Fatal car crashes involving pot use have tripled in U.S.

The movement toward marijuana legalization makes these findings extremely important. People downplay the negative effects that marijuana have on our body and don't want to admit the serious traffic safety consequences. The findings of a recent Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health report found that fatal crashes involving drivers using marijuana tripled and also when drivers use a combination of marijuana/alcohol use they 24 times more likely to have a fatal crash than a sober person. Marijuana abuse and social impacts will be evaluated in many different situations in the future but the it's impact on traffic safety has already be determined.
