Memorandum to all clients of
Minert & Associates, Inc. that do
Department of Transportation (DOT)
drug and alcohol testing.

We would like to let you know that DOT regulations require, effective 31 January 2003, that all drug collection and alcohol testing technicians are required to be certified in order to be authorized to perform those duties.

The DOT has published certification guidelines for both drug collection and alcohol testing technicians. Anyone who performs those functions must now have a certificate, issued in their name, that authorizes them to perform those duties consistent with applicable DOT regulations.


 
 
We would request that companies are conducting DOT testing ask those technicians that are doing their drug collections and alcohol testing for a copy of their certificate to ensure that they are authorized to do that work.

Any company that cannot get their applicable collection and testing provider to make available copies of these certificates should contact our office immediately.

Additionally, we would also like to inform our clients that our Medical Review Officer, Dr. J.V. Drost, has retired from his duty as MRO. Dr. Drost has provided MRO services to us for 12 years and we have greatly appreciated his efforts.

Effective 1 February, 2003, we have arranged to have Dr. Ralph Sutherlin provide MRO services. Dr. Sutherlin is a physician located in Boise, Idaho and is fully certified with a national MRO association to provide MRO services. We look forward to working with him in providing drug testing services to our clients that do DOT testing.
